26 As Little Linda aged, she found that a lot of things changed. Her body, her mind, and her needs. She made art about her bones, then found out that she had the beginnings of osteoporosis. She made art about absence, and then found that she was returning to the Catholic Church and her roots for new information and for a completion of her spiritual journey. And once 14 Years of Living Art was completed, she found that the clothes were not only documents but charged “art relics”. And the prayers were to be performed by all.
Hsieh: Our communication was mostly about this piece. Like, I have to ask Linda if I want a glass of water. It takes up all of our energy. Grey and Grey: Your piece has been on the newswire. You’ve had a tremendous amount of media attention nationally. How do you feel about the publicity? Hsieh: I have positive and negative feelings. Negative is that I don’t really like that kind of publicity. But I would like for people to know. The problem is that they are more interested in the life issues and don’t understand art.
That’s enough. I feel that’s pretty good. We had a lot of fights and I don’t feel that is negative. Anybody who was tied this way, even if they were a nice couple, I’m sure they would fight, too.
