New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1939. 348p. map. The author describes in great detail his travels in French Cameroon in 1938. The first part of the account presents Egerton's sojourn in Ebolowa among the Bulu people on his way to Bangangté. However, most of the volume concentrates on the author's several months study with N'Jike II, the tenth king of Bangangté.
