Tensions between Arab and black students at the School for International Studies, a middle school located in Brooklyn, New York, led to an after-school project, Telling Lives, in which students conducted interviews with individuals in this mostly Arab-dominated section of New York following the events of September 11, 2001. Each of these projects reflects the flexibility associated with integrating an oral history project in schools with a range of a student abilities and interests, regardless of geographic location.
