Although the participants were free to talk about the topic I attempted to keep the conversation away from evaluative themes and tried to encourage the participants to give descriptive statements and explanations focused on the themes of the topic.

Having many friends and ex-colleagues working in government institutions facilitated my field visits and provided me with more information about individuals, institutions, and NGOs which I might glean greater information from. The existence of 28 universities and research institutions in the area of the NKRDP site also provided access to more resources.
