It’s important to note that such preferences are aesthetic and should not be judged as sophisticated or underdeveloped any more than the advisor would think to judge a devotee of blank verse poetry as more or less sophisticated than someone who prefers sonnets.

Inquire about the reader’s interest in nontext narrative formats, such as favorite movies. Work with the reader at the catalog or the bookshelf, as you would ordinarily, collecting three to five titles for brief booktalking.
